“This class was life changing for me. I feel more empowered than ever to take the lead, lean in and embrace the POWER TO own my career and development.”

--Meg Middleton, Manager, Training Development

Course participants will learn and apply the nine leadership “Power Tools,” practical skills instructor Gloria Feldt has developed from her own career, interviews with women around the country, and the latest research. These tools are rooted in changing the power paradigm and understanding the principles of leadership as movement building. They include practice in defining one’s terms, negotiation and “gender bilingual” communication skills, dealing positively with conflict and chaos, and storytelling. These tools will inform and inspire each participant’s Personal Leadership Action Plan to “take the lead” in her own life and work by applying the tools to a self-defined goal or problem. One important takeaway will be the Personal Leadership Action Plan template that can be reused whenever needed for future career advancement and leading change management.

About the Instructor

Gloria Feldt, co-founder and president of Take The Lead and author of No Excuses: 9 Ways Women Can Change How We Think About Power, has been an advocate for women for four decades. When it comes to leadership, People Magazine called her “the voice of experience” and Vanity Fair named her one of America’s “Top 200 Women Legends, Leaders, and Trailblazers.” When she discovered some shocking reasons for the disparities, she knew she had to find out why and create specific ways women can change these patterns for greater personal and professional success. She will share her research and her own inspiring story of how she grew from teen mom to president and CEO of Planned Parenthood Federation of America and now a bestselling author and co-founder and president of Take The Lead, an initiative to bring women to leadership parity by 2025.
