These two self-paced modules were created with family and friends of people experiencing Alzheimer’s disease and related dementias in mind. Alzheimer’s disease and related dementias are chronic conditions that can last 2-20 years. Planning ahead benefits everyone involved. People experiencing these conditions and the family and friends who care for them (caregivers) will need help, support, and resources over time. Information is provided in easy to understand terms.

About the Instructor
Jan Dougherty, RN, MS
Jan Dougherty is director of family & community services at Banner Alzheimer’s Institute. She has over 20 years experience in the care of older adults with specialization in dementia care. Jan is noted for the development and evaluation of numerous programs that support patients/family caregivers with dementia from early stages to hospice care.
